Catching Up...

Hello!

I'm still alive!

It will be a jumbled catch up post and will last as long as the bubs are both asleep. (Can you believe I got them both to sleep at the same time? First time since Leon was born and he is nearly 8 weeks. Still hope for me!)

Well, it has been crazy. Fun, chaotic, stressful, emotional, frustrating, busy, amazing. At times I feel like all I do is clean-up after, run-after, feed, and do it all over again and that that is all my life has become. I keep telling myself that it will get easier. I keep telling myself it's not forever. Other times I wouldn't have it any other way and feel lucky to have a girl and a boy whom are beautiful and healthy and make my heart sing and I keep telling them not to grow too quick!

Amongst the chaos I have:

Seen The Black Crowes live. (Amazing band but didnt play any songs I knew and dragged out the songs they did play for 10 minutes...)

Saw Brick Lane. (Beautiful film, as is the novel.)

Did a few makeup jobs (some 4+ hours - boy did my breastmilk leak!)

Visited 3 new babies (Owen, Hardi and Gisele)

Spent half a day at Aurora Day Spa (thanks Pete!) twas lovely - although it's the kind of place where you feel like you need to have a pedicure before you go...

Tried to finish decorating Mahlie and Leon's bedroom but it's still a functional WIP

Got frustrated about having no time for Twiglet (or any craft/sewing at all) and have since found a way to keep it going. Mahlie is now in childcare once a week and also goes to Pete's parents house for the day every second Tuesday. Pete is also going to car pool to work once a week with another hairdresser so I get the car one extra day a week. Woohoo! So fingers crossed I might get out to the studio finally! To celebrate I am doing a giveaway and a May Sale. I will post again in a few days with giveaway details!

Some catch up pics of the babas and around the house...

Ooooh - and did you get your copy of Mixtape? Did you see mine and Nichola's bumps? Heehee! Sooo glad to be back in normal clothes again...

This is...

This is..... Sunday Lunch:

Early_feb_08_039 Yep - a good ol' pastie from the local bakery with HEAPS of sauce eaten in front of the computer whilst I catch up on either blogs or boring admin. Sentimentally, though, Sunday lunch reminds me of going to my Nans in Northcote and she would cook a roast for us all. The lamb would be beautiful and the roast potatoes perfect. Peas, honey carrots and mint sauce. SO should have learnt how to cook from her while I had the chance!

34 weeks +

Is the amount of pregnant that I am. I'm quite sure he is trying to push his way out through my belly button. Like in Alien. I'm finding myself having to stop what I'm doing to breathe through the wriggling. I'm so not ready to give birth again and even though it it was only 16 months ago that I had Mahlie, I had to look up what to pack in my hospital bag amongst other newbornish things I had forgotten about... Yikes - well I guess there's no getting out of it now!

The past month has been a bit of a rollercoaster. My dear old nan died on January 2nd. She was 89. Only a few months after my other nan! It was sad but I learnt so much about her at the funeral. I found out she loved shopping, especially for shoes and handbags. I also owe to her my gratitude for bringing me up crafty. She taught me to sew and be creative. Shae has done a little tributey/photoey thing on her blog.

Christmas was great! I didn't manage to hand make all the gifts, but here is one I made little Andrew. It's a plastic covered crayon and pencil craft roll with pocket for paper! I love this fabric: Dec_07_010 Dec_07_003 Shots of our Christmas:Dec_07_014 Dec_07_016 Dec_07_025 Dec_07_051 And the token pics of Mahlie. She got a keyboard for Christmas from Pete & I and we think she is a natural. She's pretty good at the eating, too!Dec_07_058 Dec_07_067 Dec_07_045 Well, now that I have a month's worth of posting out of the way, I have decided to partake in the 30 days of the everyday photo posting thingy that others already began over a week ago. I will attempt to keep it up - it might help me to break the habit of abandoning my blog and will help me to count down the days until the inevitable horror and joy... see you tomorrow.

P.S - there is new stuff in the Twiglet store!

What the...?

Ultrasound_20_weeks  I still cannot believe it! We are having a BOY!!! I was soooooo sure it was a girl. I can now stop agonising over girls names. Shattered are my dreams and visions of a girly bedroom decorated with "Iced VoVo" biscuits as the inspiration. (Pink, red, wheat and coconut with a bit of fluff). Hee hee. It will be nice to have one of each. The only advice I have been given about a baby boy is to make sure his willy is pointing down when you do up the nappy. Anyone else know anything about "the other species"??

Fathers Day

Not so long ago my grandmother died. She was my father's mother and her name was Betty. I managed to drive to the country town where she lives to see her before she died but didn't make it to her funeral due to morning sickness. Dad came over on his way home from the funeral and gave me this suitcase of hers.Late_aug_early_sept_043 Which was gift enough itself as it is very cool and I love the colour. Inside was all of her dresses. Dad thought I could use the fabrics for my crafting. Instead I made him this memory quilt for Fathers Day!Late_aug_early_sept_045 I know it's a bit country floral to give to my Dad but, well, to be frank - my Dad is a bit girly (as some of you may have read before...) I made the back from larger squares and left the pockets and details of the dresses on...Late_aug_early_sept_049 And found name labels sewn into some so thought they could be included, too.Late_aug_early_sept_046 Dad absolutely loved it and is grateful to have it in our family. We are going to pass it around to all his siblings so everyone can "have a turn". It really is such a lovely way to remember your nan. It's kinda like the cushions my mum made me out of my grandpa's groovy '60s ties. Best present she ever gave me. This quilt has inspired me to make a few more for our home and beds. So nice to pass down...

I've also been busy making baby wraps for Mikes and baby shower gifts. Here's a couple for sale there at the moment. More over here...Late_aug_early_sept_034 Late_aug_early_sept_056 I think I may have confused a few people with my last post! That pic is me pregnant with Mahlie! I'm not having twins! Hee hee... My belly is definately getting there with this bub, though. I'm nearly 4 months but look 5 or 6. We have started to talk seriously about names now. There's a few I really love so much which I may as well share as Pete hates them and will not be swayed. Boy: Ike  Girl: Delilah. Cute, huh? Speaking of new babies - look at my adorable new nephew! Eden Winter Reid.Late_aug_early_sept_012 Last but not least - some pics of Mahlie from the past week or so.Late_aug_early_sept_005 Late_aug_early_sept_015 Late_aug_early_sept_026 Told you I needed my camera charger! Oh - and I finally set up my bloglines. How did i live without that? It's already won me a fabric goody parcel from Craftapalooza! Good Wuuuuuuun.

lost

I keep thinking "I'll do a post as soon as I have found my camera charger." The camera is completely out of batteries and the charger is absolutely nowhere to be found. A bit sad that I must have images to accompany a blog entry, but true. This week has really just been me walking around with my head in a cloud of baby brain. Did a trip to Mikes and had a spot of lunch in Richmond (Mahlie flipped a bowl of Minestrone onto my lap and into my handbag at Richmond hill Cafe and Larder!) while Kerri and I tried to enjoy our lunch. We made a mess all over the table with our swing tags and price guns. Hmmm...I bet they just loved us. Been trying to organise Mahlie's 1st birthday parties - yes there will be two! One this Sunday, and the Sunday after she is sharing a birthday party with my Dad at a local cafe. We still haven't bought her a present! Can't think of anything... I cannot believe she is going to be one! It freaks me out and made me look back at some pics of when she was born. And not born yet. Here's some.Pregnancysingletweb_images Mahlie_097

Took her to the playground yesterday for the first time. She loved the little baby swing and the sandpit and yep, she ate some. Waiting for my sister to post about her new arrival - but it's her news so my lips are hesitantly pursed tightly. Thinking I might visit the Genki Caravan thingy on Wednesday. The sickness is coming and going but somehow in between I am managing to scoff down this, which I highly recommend along with the Tira Misu flavour! Soooo GooooodIce_cream_001

tourists..

Well, this week we have been tour guides for our friend Fraz whom is here in Australia for a month and is staying with us for two weeks. We spent two nights in Hepburn Spings in our favourite accommodation, The Church, which is currently(unfortunately for us)now for sale:Dsc01356 Dsc01374  Dsc01371 August_007 Dsc01389_2August_023

We had a great time, althogh I could't keep food down for almost 3 days due to severe morning sickness (again! arghhhh!) and ended up at the Royal Womens on Wednesday with a drip up my arm and was sent home with some hospital grade drugs which are working, thank the lord! So Thursday and Friday I soldiered on and joined the gang at the Melbourne Aquarium, the casino and then up into the Eureka Tower:August_031 August_026 Dsc01422 Dsc01425 Dsc01444  Dsc01445

Friday we went to the Melbourne Zoo, Saturday to Victoria Market (Fraz stocked up on Aussie Souvenirs and I stocked up on Jam Donuts) and today we did nuthin as we went out for dinner to Marquis of Lorne and then everyone went to the Night Cat to see Los Cabrones except for me cos I FEEL SICK AGAIN!!! Had to come home after dinner and let the boys go dancing... Anyway *sigh* I shall hit the hay now as we are off to Apollo Bay tomorrow morning for three days so keep your fingers crossed for me that I'm not sick all the way there in the car... I'm quite excited on the other hand as my sister is due to give birth any day now and I can't wait to hold my little neice or nephew! It will be interesting to see how Mahlie reacts as she has never seen a newborn.August_014 "Look Mama, no teeth!" hee hee.

I must also mention that I recieved the first issue of Mixtape Zine and admit I have only had time to flick through quickly - I will take it away with me for a thorough read - well done chicks!!

oops, I did it again...

Yep, I am pregnant. Again. Already. Pete and I are thrilled, yet shocked for a few reasons. I am due in February and the babies will be about 18 months apart. I have had morning sickness for a week and have my fingers crossed that a repeat of the last pregnancy won't occur! (hospitalised morning sickness for months and months, pre-natal depression, severe fluid retention... and then there was the birth - 30 hours, no drugs) I have had some acupuncture and that has helped the morning sickness already. Anyone else got any other miracle remedies? Advice on babies this close in age? Which is the best double pram? Wow. How exciting and scary!

4 posts in 1

Finally I have a bit of time to catch up on posts! The past week has been really busy with work and social occasions and party organising! My makeup website is almost finished and I can't wait til it's online. This past week or so it has been my mum's birthday, my brothers' birthday, good friend Claire's 30th and little Ava's 1st birthday and it's my 30th on Sunday!

The other day I met up with Leslie and Jo in Yarraville which was fun - but I had to run off early to go to Ava's 1st birthday party at the Aquatic Centre. Pete took Mahlie in the wave pool and she smiled and giggled for half an hour! We will have to go back, for sure. Ava's cake was so cute....look!June_07_012 (The blue jelly in the middle was the best bit.)

Had (quite a few) drinks at Acqua e Vino on Saturday night due to old friend, Lana, contacting me through myspace after about 10 years... it was great to see her and great to have girly drinks and stumble home afterwards.

My mothers group had 'dinner and a movie' on Tuesday night and we saw Romulus, my father. Such a beautiful movie, but so, so sad. Glad I saw it, though. Eric Bana was amazing. Favourite line:"It is not a waste of time if you enjoyed wasting it".

Claire's Birthday last night - we had dinner at a really great Lebanese restaurant in Bridge Rd, Richmond with belly dancers and all. I gave Claire, amongst other gifts this little guy which I purchased from Melly and Me. It was really hard to give him away - Mahlie & I became very attached! His name is Hooty.June_07_027

And here is Mahlie meeting him - so cute..

My mum, brother, myself and Mahlie took a drive down to Geelong to see Shae as it is all of our birthdays at once and she has no car and is very pregnant - 10 weeks to go before Mahlie will have another little cousin! We went for a walk to have coffee and cake and passed this cute little tiled wall.June_07_035 And check out the birthday gift Shae gave me here!

I guess the most exciting news this week is that our baby & kids stuff went into Meet Me At Mikes today! Pip is so lovely and gave us such great feedback and a few pointers. I could hang out in there forever and look at all the cute stuff for sale. I am so over the moon it is in there with all that other goodness..

So anyway, as you can tell it has been a mental week and I spoke too soon about having some time to do this as Mahlie just woke up after a very short sleep and is screaming. I will just put this photo here and all will be forgiven..June_07_001

Please excuse the basic post - I may have achieved lots this week but i am feeling a bit simple today. Time for a cuppa and a TimTam, I think!
