Backlogging (or should I say back-blogging!)

I have lots to tell. Lots of of pics to show! I have a backlog of blog posts and have had no time to post them! This is very ambitious of me - but I have decided to post to this here blog everyday for the rest of September. It will be like a digital spring cleaning. If anyone is still reading and has not given up on me, you might like to join in...?

First, Bali.

Our holiday was really amazing. Our resort and villa were to die for. Our jaws literally dropped when we were dropped off at the foyer. We could not believe we were going to stay in this luxurious palace of a resort with water features everywhere, exotic plants and palms, traditional "rice barn" style villas, two-level pool with swim-up bar and in-house day spa. We booked a deluxe family villa and that is what we got! Here is where Mahlie slept:

And Mahlie's bedroom with view of the pool - which resulted in lengthy, daily chanting "shwimming? shwimming? papa? shwimming? mama! shwimming! bathers? yeah? okaaaaay... and there was following around, hand pulling, dress tugging at and a bit of tanty throwing to go with it. Frustratingly we would take her in the pool only for her to want to get straight out because it was too cold. Little Monkey!

I knew it would be hard travelling with the babas, the compensation for Pete and I having to leave great places earlier and having very limited sun lounge time was to get a babysitter every night and go out to dinner. The dining in Bali is amazing. We think we might move there! Wedding pics tomorrow...

Hate to say it...

...but I'm still sick. Can't keep a thing down. There was about 5 days where I was really good and things were looking up. Got some sewing done, went to Magnolia Square, went shopping for new clothes. But now it's back to the drawing board. In the midst of the sick I dragged myself off to Apollo Bay for 2 nights but the car on those windy roads did not help one bit. We got some nice shots, though!Dsc01572 Dsc01557 view from our accomodation:Dsc01552 Anyhoo, hopefully I feel better soon and will have a cheerier post to share. Thanks for the recipe, Mel - I will save it for a rainy day! Strawberry+Chocolate+Pavlova = my favourite. Back to my bucket I crawl..

tourists..

Well, this week we have been tour guides for our friend Fraz whom is here in Australia for a month and is staying with us for two weeks. We spent two nights in Hepburn Spings in our favourite accommodation, The Church, which is currently(unfortunately for us)now for sale:Dsc01356 Dsc01374  Dsc01371 August_007 Dsc01389_2August_023

We had a great time, althogh I could't keep food down for almost 3 days due to severe morning sickness (again! arghhhh!) and ended up at the Royal Womens on Wednesday with a drip up my arm and was sent home with some hospital grade drugs which are working, thank the lord! So Thursday and Friday I soldiered on and joined the gang at the Melbourne Aquarium, the casino and then up into the Eureka Tower:August_031 August_026 Dsc01422 Dsc01425 Dsc01444  Dsc01445

Friday we went to the Melbourne Zoo, Saturday to Victoria Market (Fraz stocked up on Aussie Souvenirs and I stocked up on Jam Donuts) and today we did nuthin as we went out for dinner to Marquis of Lorne and then everyone went to the Night Cat to see Los Cabrones except for me cos I FEEL SICK AGAIN!!! Had to come home after dinner and let the boys go dancing... Anyway *sigh* I shall hit the hay now as we are off to Apollo Bay tomorrow morning for three days so keep your fingers crossed for me that I'm not sick all the way there in the car... I'm quite excited on the other hand as my sister is due to give birth any day now and I can't wait to hold my little neice or nephew! It will be interesting to see how Mahlie reacts as she has never seen a newborn.August_014 "Look Mama, no teeth!" hee hee.

I must also mention that I recieved the first issue of Mixtape Zine and admit I have only had time to flick through quickly - I will take it away with me for a thorough read - well done chicks!!

Country Gig

Tuesday night I drove up to Bendigo to stay the night at my friend Lana's house and we went to see this amazing band. I didn't realise when we bought the tickets last week that it was an all ages gig so it was kinda funny when we rocked up and everyone was like 15. Nevermind - I fitted in with my stretch black jeans and converse. (which is what I was wearing when I was 15! hee hee!) Of course we couldn't buy a beer so we had coffee and jam donuts from the little van where the ladies serving had earplugs in. The event was put on by the 'Make Poverty History' organisation and I was quite impressed with their passion and effort as all the staff and people involved are under 26. They have set up this campaign called 'face up to poverty' which aims to collect pictures of 70,000 people with the Make Poverty History message as part of an online petition. I was going to send this one of Mahlie but then I read it again and you have to be over 16... Copy_of_mahlie_make_poverty_historybummer. I guess I'll have to send in one of my own head.

The next morning I drove back mega early so I would be on time for work, then I worked 9 hours, got home, collapsed in bed and now I am having a bit of a rest day. Pottering about the house, booking stuff over the internet - such as a few overnight trips away in August while Pete has 2 weeks off and while our friend Fraz is here from the U.K. Also thinking about going to see this. (I love Renee Geyer) And really I gotta sew more stuff - pronto, while the goings good.
