September so far...

Mahlie turned 4!

and had, as she calls it, a "purple fairy garden tea party" at which pass the parcel and musical chairs was played to the sounds of her new favourite band, Supergrass.

Our playgroup had a Spring Fair, which I couldn't be at because I had Maribyrnong Makers Market and a big makeup job - so my contribution was to make up DIY felt steiner toy kits to sell at the craft stall. There are a few left so if anyone wants to make their own toadstool, chicken set or dolphin - let me know and I will send one out! These, along with the made-up finished toys are a great fundraiser for our local non-funded playgroup.

 

Today at Jimmy Buttons sourcing trims and bothering the staff with my two lovely monsters who were pulling on rolls of ribbon and dropping sultanas on the floor...

The big question this month is "Will I meet my unrealistic deadline of the first week of October to get all my new products made up and desired stock levels produced for Twiglet?" (which I will be taking Finders Keepers and also represented by Ink & Spindle at Bowerbird on the same weekend). It's going to mean focus, dedication, working late, no post break-up-trash-baggery and no procrastination.. good luck to moi!

"the singing show"

Today I took Mahlie to what she calls "the singing show" which was actually Justine Clarke's "Songs To Make You Smile" concert. It was all a bit mad - the gazillions of toddlers being chased down dark isles by frantic mothers carrying newborns in pouches. A heavily pregnant Justine hippity-hopping on stage, still putting on a damn good show. And Mahlie - awake since 5:30am (show was at midday) who would not let me put her down, would not sit in her seat and was generally too tired to really appreciate what was going on - especially since she is so insanely Justine fanatical. Once we'd stocked up on merchandise and met the lady herself, all I heard the whole way home was whining about how we can't go home, we have to go back, we have to watch it again, I want Justiiiiiiinnnne! Over-tired 2 year-olds, what can you do? Luckily I had fun...

Doh! I missed a day! Broke my own rules... Nevermind! (Had important things to do like go back to the gym, go to Northcote Festival and do a family budget only to find out we have practically nothing left over after the weekly outgoings. Looks like I will be selling some stuff on ebay again...!)

Here is Mahlie playing in her new kitchen which she got for her birthday and which we set up for her in the corner of the playroom and which I must take more photos of because it's so adorable. She makes us "frog soup" and "mama coffee".

And Leon whom I am trying desperately to take more photos of so he doesn't grow up with a complex that his big sister has about five baby photo albums and he only one... and most of his photos have Miss M in them anyway!

When all the birthday and wedding madness is over I may just have time to write something about it!

Wots bin appenin then?

Cookin'... Pete has been going nutso on the Spanish dishes since we brought home the cookbook from Movida!

Bakin'... I even set foot in the kitchen and made this butter cake with raspberry and vanilla bean mascarpone filling. GOD it was good.

Decoratin'... found a space and a way to display my lovelies without them being broken by menaces beginning with M.

Adorin'... this little fairy. We took her to the show twice in a week. Once with one cousin, once with another. Watching your little girl spinning in a costume - it don't get much better! (even if the songs were a bit irritating!)

Workin'... on Twiglet. Got some new colours/fabrics coming and some designs in Size 2! Come and visit me here on 2/8 and 18/10. I will be peddling my wares and covered in Leon drool.
